If the pre-set auto programs don’t meet your desire, you can manually adjust the settings in each Floridian Brand Massage Chairs to customize the massage you prefer. When adjusting a massage manually, you can choose from various types of massage. Each type simulates a different massage technique, and will vary in effect and overall sensation.
Floridian Brand massage chairs feature the following types of massage techniques:
SHIATSU MASSAGE
Shiatsu massage employs some of the same techniques as acupressure. The word “Shiatsu” translates to “finger pressure” in Japanese, and employs stretching, pressure, and rotation movement to provide a whole-body restoration effect that can reduce stress, muscle pain, anxiety, and depression.
The purpose of massage is to apply pressure to the energy channels that run through the human body; channels which can become blocked, causing physical and mental ailments. The smooth and rhythmic pressure is therefore designed to unblock the channels and prevent future disruptions in the flow of energy in the body. As a result, it does a great job of relieving tension, and promoting harmony and balance throughout the body.
TAPPING MASSAGE
Another technique is to rhythmically tap the muscles along the spine. This is a “bouncy” and short movement imitating the open hand of a massage therapist. Performed in this way, it causes no pain and prevents the formation of bruises. Tapping strengthens muscles, stimulates the entire body and improves blood circulation.
KNEADING MASSAGE
Kneading massage is a great way to relieve tension and soreness in the muscles by lifting and stretching those muscles. It promotes blood and lymph circulation and also helps bring vital nutrients to the spinal area, eliminating toxins from muscle and nerve tissue. Your massage chair will utilize kneading on your back in small circular motions on both sides of your spine.
KNOCKING MASSAGE
Massage heads and rollers are programmed to rhythmically press on muscles in short intervals and then retract. This gentle massage is great for revitalizing fatigued muscles.
WAVE MASSAGE
The massaging arms perform a wave-like motion along the spine. It is most often used before a stronger massage is performed. It perfectly improves blood circulation in the muscles and prepares them for further treatments.
AIR COMPRESSION (or SQUEEZE MASSAGE)
An air compression massage is delivered to your extremities and core via an airbag system which is built into most of our massage chairs. Air compression has been found to relieve stiffness and improve blood circulation within your body. The compression style is also adept at stimulating the lymphatic system to remove toxins from the body.
A compression or squeeze massage is great way to alleviate tension in your hips and thighs as well. Typically for this, the airbags will inflate in the hip area to squeeze and help relieve stress and joint pain. The squeeze massage is frequently used in conjunction with the back rollers to ensure you get the most out of your massage.
Air compression massages usually have varying intensity levels and can sometimes be targeted like many of the back massages using manual mode controls. In Floridian massage chairs it is also used to produce a stretch massage.
